Analysis of RMG Steel Bar Sealing Machine
The 200 liter steel drum equipment of Germany Rärling (RMG) has the advantages of reasonable structure, good performance, high precision of barrel size, convenient operation and production efficiency suitable for the production scale of most barrel enterprises in China. It was developed by the State Economic Commission and China National Packaging Corporation as an introduction and digestion project. A new 200-liter steel drum equipment has been developed and passed the ministerial appraisal, which has a good effect.
The middle section of the steel drum is the key equipment for the barrel making, especially the sealing machine. It is the equipment for assembling the barrel body with the bottom of the barrel and the lid of the barrel. The quality of the assembly directly affects the sealing effect of the steel barrel. The double-end sealing machine from RMG of Germany has attracted the attention of the steel drum industry with its high quality and high efficiency.
First, the basic structure and function of the sealing machine
1. Basic structure (see Figure 1)

The machine is composed of a base 23, a bracket 4 and a guide post 6 and a frame structure. The 0 bracket 4 is fixed on a base 23. Four guide posts 6 are horizontally passed between the two work plates 10, and the two ends are fixed to the bracket 4 to enable the work plate 10 to move horizontally. A guide plate 20, a mandrel 13, a sealing disk 19, a support system seat 17, and the like are mounted in the middle of the work plate. The machine is equipped with a cam motor 7, a speed reducer 8, a cam 9, and the like. A support head base 15 and a reset cylinder (not shown) are mounted in the support system seat below the cam. Align each of the rolling head shaft axes with the sealing disk 19 and over the centerline (Figure 2). A roller sprocket 25 and a toothed chain 24 are respectively mounted on the two mandrels 13 under the rolling head shaft. A clamping rod, a solenoid valve, a pressure gauge, a gas-water separator and the like are mounted on the two brackets of the mandrel mount 11 on the two clamping brackets 120 (not shown). The spline drive shaft is mounted on the working plate between the two lower guide columns, the shaft is provided with a toothed chain, one end of the main shaft is connected by a universal joint, and the other end of the main shaft 27 is equipped with a V-belt pulley 1 which is equipped with a spring brake . The main motor 3 is directly connected by a V-belt 2.

2. The working principle of the machine is: combining the barrel body with the top of the bucket and the bottom of the bucket, and after being conveyed by the mechanical feeding device to the lower part of the center of the sealing tray, the bucket barrel 21 is lifted by the cylinder of the bucket to position the bucket blank. At the center of the sewing disc, the clamping cylinder is clamped. The 55kw main motor is driven by a V-belt to rotate the spindle pulley. Under the action of air pressure, the clutch pulls and drives the main shaft, and through the universal joint, the spline shaft, the toothed chain and the sprocket, the mandrel drives the sealing disc and the billet to rotate together. At the same time, the cam motor 7 passes through the speed reducer 8 and the drive cam 9 to realize the feeding motion of the roller head shaft and the roller, and the barrel body and the top of the bucket and the bottom of the bucket are sealed. After the sealing is completed, the cam is first reset, the clutch is released, the brake is braked on the mandrel, the sealing disc and the steel drum are stopped, the clamping cylinder is returned, and the working plate 10 guided by the guiding column 6 is acted by the clamping rod. At the same time, it is pulled back, and the sealing disk 19 is returned through the working plate, and the processed steel drum is automatically sent out.
Second, the performance of the sealing machine
1. The base, the pillar and the working plate of the machine are welded with steel plates. . The work plate is guided by a hardened and ground circular guide rail for easy clamping. Due to the frame structure, the machine has high strength and good stability. Steel drums can be of high quality by adjusting the rollers. The steel drum produced by this machine can meet the requirements of Class I of the International Maritime Dangerous Regulations.
2. The machine has a large processing range. Can produce steel drums of different specifications. The length of the barrel can be adjusted by a manual mechanism, moving the work board and the guide plate. The adjustment range is 600-1000mm. Steel drums of different barrel diameters can be adjusted by changing the sealing disc and the guide plate and the ratchet to change the stroke range of the sealing roller. The barrel diameter can be adjusted from 400 to 600mm. Therefore, it meets the requirements for producing steel drums of different specifications and models.
3. The machine uses a combination of mechanical and pneumatic methods. The processing accuracy of the product is guaranteed. The machine uses a PC program control system for manual, automatic, and semi-automatic operation.
4. The machine uses three rollers. Combine the pre-rolling process with the sealing process into one process. The bottom cover of the machine barrel is directly sealed without pre-rolling, which not only reduces labor intensity but also guarantees quality. The machine is avoided, because the pre-rolling arc ruler is small, causing bumps during the transfer process, causing it to deform, thereby affecting the quality of the seal.
5. The machine can achieve high working efficiency, producing 4-6 steel drums per minute, and can reach triple seven-layer round curling.
6. Due to the reasonable design of machinery, electrical appliances and pneumatics, the main drive power of the whole machine is reduced. The main drive motor power is only 55kw and the speed is 970r/min. The power of the two cam motors is 1.5kw. Compressed air consumption: 3m3/min. Overall size: 4350 x 3135 x 2800mm (length X width X height). The total weight of the whole machine is I5t, and the installation is relatively simple.
Third, the debugging of the sealing machine
Correct commissioning of the sealing machine is a guarantee for the production of qualified steel drums.
1. Adjustment of the tension of the main motor V-belt. Simply rotate the adjustment bolts on the motor frame rails to advance or retract the motor to adjust the belt tension. After adjustment, fix the bolts.
2. The adjustment of the length of the barrel is achieved by adjusting the distance of the sealing disc. When adjusting, the clamping cylinder should be in the secondary clamping position, loosen the clamping rod locking ring screw, and rotate the cross hand wheel to adjust the length. After adjustment, tighten the screws. At the same time, the guide plate distance must be adjusted. The method is to rotate the outer hand wheel to adjust the guide plate into or out through the connecting bracket and the guide rail to ensure the smooth entry of the blank into the sealing disk.
3. Adjustment of the crimping mechanism. The crimping mechanism is composed of a cam system, a support system, a stroke adjustment system, and a roller system.
1 cam system mainly adjusts the direction of the cam, that is, the order of work required to adjust the curling. The method is to remove the camshaft support plate, loosen the expansion sleeve screw between the cam and the camshaft, rotate the cam to the desired angle according to the cam working sequence, and then tighten the screw to lock the inner and outer expansion sleeves, and then install the cam. The shaft supports the plate and is fastened with bolts.
2 support system adjustment. The main adjustment adjusts the rotation of the fixed block to be tight. Loosen the tightening bolts so that the roller head shaft slides up and down freely.
The 8-stroke system adjustment generally only needs to adjust the ratchet. The method is to loosen the lock nut on the shaft of the rolling head, and the cam is at the bottom dead center position, and the ratchet wrench of the pipe can be rotated to drive the roller head shaft and the roller (the roller is mounted on the rolling head) to rise or After lowering and adjusting to the proper position, tighten the lock nut. The adjustment of the stroke system is actually to adjust the radial clearance between the roller and the sealing disc. Adjust the gap to the best position to ensure the production of qualified finished products.
4 wheel adjustment. Mainly to adjust the axial clearance between the roller and the sealing disk. The method is to loosen the pressure block on the roller shaft and the adjusting bolt on the back of the roller shaft, push the roller forward, and press the block at the beginning, and adjust it slowly with the bolt, and adjust it to the requirement. Generally, the optimum clearance is between 0.10-0.20mm (measured with a feeler gauge). Then press the clamp and tighten the adjustment bolt. The adjustment of the axial clearance directly affects the quality of the steel drum products. During the operation, if the gap is too large, it will easily cause the sealing seam and the flange to be wrapped. Therefore, the adjustment of the crimping mechanism is the key to the debugging of the sealing machine, which is the key to obtaining a qualified finished product.
In short, the German RMG seam sealing machine is more advanced and reasonable in overall design. It is pneumatically and mechanically combined and equipped with P. C program control, improve the performance of the sealing machine. However, the structure of the aircraft needs to be improved:
1. The connecting sleeve structure of the mandrel toothed sprocket and the mandrel can be changed to a key or a flower chain connection with an axial fixing nut. During the operation, it can eliminate the phenomenon that the barrel is often caused by the expansion of the expansion sleeve.
2. The cam and the camshaft are locked. If the key is used, it can be used as long as it is assembled. It can be used directly after assembly. It is not necessary to adjust the cam direction frequently. (In consideration of chain wear, etc., only one of the intermediate drive shafts can be temporarily fixed. Cam, as a benchmark).
3. The roller adjustment mechanism is not convenient enough to operate, and the cams are inconsistent in steering.
If the above mechanism is improved, the sealing machine may be perfected.
